The highlight of the Spring term at the Russian schools in
Nottingham was the celebration of 50 years since the first
man - Yury Gagarin flew into space. A series of celebrations dedicated
to Gagarin and his ground breaking space voyage took place at the school
supported by the Russian "Russkiy Mir" Foundation.
For several weeks
before the celebrations took place, the pupils learnt about Gagrin, space
and the Russian history of space exploration, drew space pictures, sang
songs etc
